What are Financial Controls?
Financial controls are the procedures, policies, and means by which an organization monitors and controls the direction, allocation, and usage of its financial resources. Financial controls are at the very core of resource management and operational efficiency in any organization. In Government, this is even more important because 'financial resources' means public money. To learn more, look at the 'Financial Regulations' and 'Statement on Internal Control' documents that you can find on the 'Governance' page.
For Kettleburgh Parish Council, part of its procedures are to carry out checks at each of its ordinary meetings. From July 2023, as its next step in ensuring that its business is transparent to the public, it will be publishing the more important documents that demonstrate that it has done so.
