As you may already be aware, following a Call for Sites in late 2025, East Suffolk District Council is in the process of producing a new Local Plan for the period 2029 to 2044. The Local Plan will become one of the overarching documents that steers what kind of development takes place where, right across East Suffolk.
There will be several opportunities for the public to have their say throughout the production of the new Local Plan, the first of which is currently underway by way of a 'Scoping Consultation'. This consultation is designed to explore, in broad terms, what people would like the Local Plan to contain, and to set broad parameters for where people would generally prefer development to take place. At this stage, this is not an opportunity to comment directly on any of the sites proposed under last year's Call for Sites – an opportunity for this is expected in the first half of 2027.
The Scoping Consultation is open from 10 June until 5pm on Wednesday 29 July. Kettleburgh Parish Council encourages as many people as possible to have their say. The consultation can be accessed by clicking on this LINK.
Kettleburgh Parish Council will be meeting on Tuesday 21 July, and will take a position on whether, or how, it responds to the consultation. Further updates will follow in due course.
