Aladdin - 2014 panto

It could not have been a worse week weather-wise to stage a pantomime. With the highest winds of the winter and in pouring rain a marquee for the cast was erected outside and anchored to surrounding trees. Dressing up ankle deep in water and with instructions not to drop their clothes in the wet the cast of the Kettleburgh Players battled on with Aladdin, another brilliant pantomime. We were treated to the lovely voice of Chloe as Wishy Washy, the sometimes unscripted but always humorous acting of Ray as Widow Twanky, Richard as Abanazer, Aladdin and the Genie, together with all the children producing a superb performance. Not only do we thank them all but also all the back room boys who work tirelessly for weeks beforehand producing costumes, music, scenery, sound and lighting etc. This year we were glad to welcome onto the team the scenery artistic talents of both Charlotte Butcher and Heidi Finbow and the equally valuable backstage input from Chris Finbow during the performances. But most of all we are ever grateful to Liz and Robert for their expertise and enthusiasm in producing the pantomime.
Next year it will be . . . . . . . . . . . . !
